WHOLE EARTH FESTIVAL is thiiiis weekend!!!
reminder of what WEF entails...
okay, FIRST, it's FREEEEE. no admission fee. nonnnne.
SECOND, it's super-focused on environmentalism and community and non-violence and bioregionalism and activism and other progressive-type buzzwords.
THIRD, it is composed of:
* tons of education booths *
-
* hand-made crafts sold by the folks who made them *
-
* fully vegetarian food (with an emphasis on vegan organics!) *
-
* artspace, craftspace, kidspace, toyspace experientialspace (i.e. workshops and playtime) *
-
* a reusable dishes program, 95% waste diversion, green energy, and other enviro stuff in practice *
-
* four stages with a plethora of perfomance in allll sorts of forms (two music stages, one dance stage, one dj stage) *
YUM.
saturday night headliners this year? on quad stage we have HAMSA LILA and at the dj stage we have LORIN BASSNECTAR. yeah, so they're playing at the same time (8pm-ish to 10pm-ish). but that is *such* a great dilemma to have to deal with. and might i remind you it's free?
the theme this year is 'conscious creation'. (check out this year's poster--it's hand-printed on *used shopping bags*. aaawwwww, yeeeeah.)
where: located in the lovely little valley town of davis, california, less than an hour and a half from san francisco and only 20 minutes from sacto... on the uc davis quad, smack-dab in the middle of town
when: friday 12noon-10pm, saturday 9am-10pm, sunday 9am-5pm (may 6th, 7th, 8th)
come out and PLAAAAAY!!!

My love for mother nature has kept me from having had a car for years, but I would love to splurge on gas for this special occasion. 30,000 will be expected, including friends from Topanga you may know, who'll be playing, but already have a packed vehicle with their instruments. Sorry I don't have a pic on here, but I could send one from my e-. Oh and the Goddess of Love -- Phaedre adopted me into a new new name I've yet to update here.
