WHOLE EARTH FESTIVAL is thiiiis weekend!!!

reminder of what WEF entails...

okay, FIRST, it's FREEEEE. no admission fee. nonnnne.

SECOND, it's super-focused on environmentalism and community and non-violence and bioregionalism and activism and other progressive-type buzzwords.

THIRD, it is composed of:

* tons of education booths *
-
* hand-made crafts sold by the folks who made them *
-
* fully vegetarian food (with an emphasis on vegan organics!) *
-
* artspace, craftspace, kidspace, toyspace experientialspace (i.e. workshops and playtime) *
-
* a reusable dishes program, 95% waste diversion, green energy, and other enviro stuff in practice *
-
* four stages with a plethora of perfomance in allll sorts of forms (two music stages, one dance stage, one dj stage) *

YUM.

saturday night headliners this year? on quad stage we have HAMSA LILA and at the dj stage we have LORIN BASSNECTAR. yeah, so they're playing at the same time (8pm-ish to 10pm-ish). but that is *such* a great dilemma to have to deal with. and might i remind you it's free?

the theme this year is 'conscious creation'. (check out this year's poster--it's hand-printed on *used shopping bags*. aaawwwww, yeeeeah.)

where: located in the lovely little valley town of davis, california, less than an hour and a half from san francisco and only 20 minutes from sacto... on the uc davis quad, smack-dab in the middle of town
when: friday 12noon-10pm, saturday 9am-10pm, sunday 9am-5pm (may 6th, 7th, 8th)

come out and PLAAAAAY!!!

Hello Tribe, hope everyone is having a smooth entry into 2006...

SpiritFire Festival (July 5-9, 2006) registration is beginning now, with very reduced rates until March 10th. Online registration should be available in the coming week or two, but right now you can download the mail-in registration forms (PDF or DOC) via the registration page on the SFF website.
http://spiritfirefestival.org/register.php All registrations include mostly organic, tasty food prepared by the Sufis who own the retreat.

This year we have a fantastic initial lineup of fellow artists coming to share their knowledge and enthusiasm - please check out who's coming at
http://spiritfirefestival.org/people.php?group=Teachers - you'll see some of who were with us last year, as well, to give you an idea of the flow of the event.

Some of the fire lighting rituals and other info is already up, as well, although things will be changing quite a bit as the months progress. I'm blessed to work and play with Martin, Asherah, Janet, Steve, Jeanette, Yuri, and Lela to create one heck of a good time - couldn't ask for anything more. Except for you to be there too.

We hope you'll make it - the vibes are feeling good!

Many blessings,
